The Milton Courthouse is the main criminal courthouse for Halton Region. Both levels of trial court sit here, so a case can begin with a first appearance in the Ontario Court of Justice and, depending on the charge and the election, proceed to trial in either court. The Crown Attorney’s office for Halton is listed at this courthouse.
If you need a disability accommodation for your court date, the Ministry of the Attorney General’s listing for the courthouse names an accessibility coordinator you can contact in advance with your court file number and the date of your appearance.
Getting There: Milton sits on Highway 401 west of the GTA. Arrive early to allow time for parking and security screening, and check the courthouse listing on ontario.ca for directions before you leave.

| Address | 2021 Plains Road East, Burlington, ON L7R 4M3 |
| Phone | 905-637-4125 |
The Burlington Courthouse is a smaller Ontario Court of Justice location. There is no Crown Attorney’s office on site; the Crown’s office for Halton is in Milton. The province lists only limited services at this location and asks visitors to call before attending to confirm what is offered and the hours of operation.
Your release paperwork or summons names the courthouse where you must appear. If it says Burlington, attend Burlington. If you are unsure, call the court office or speak with a lawyer before the date. Missing a court date can lead to a warrant and a new charge.
Virtual Court Appearances (Zoom)
Many appearances at both Milton and Burlington are conducted by Zoom. The Milton courtroom links are listed below, and Burlington’s links appear in our province-wide virtual court directory. Whether you personally must attend, and whether in person or by video, depends on the type of appearance and the court’s direction. Where a lawyer has been retained, many early appearances can be handled by counsel on your behalf.
